FRIENDS OF PROVIDENT
Provident is more than halfway through her season on the West Coast of Scotland, and it's been an eventful stretch — a new home base at Craobh Haven, fresh anchorages around Jura and Islay, and now a spell working out of Mallaig. Behind the scenic passages lies a winter of hard graft at Corpach boat yard, where both masts came out for the first time in over a decade, revealing a century-old mizzen mast in remarkable condition and a topside plank that needed replacing entirely.
In this update, read the full story of the mast lift, the plank repair, and the race to get rigged and back to Craobh in time for the season — plus what's next, including a windlass rebuild and an ambitious plan to build a winter tent to keep the rain out for good. Download the newsletter below to catch up on all of it.
