Short Sailing Breaks in Scotland: Five Nights on the West Coast

Five nights aboard a 100-year-old sailing ship. Long enough to learn the ropes and explore the islands, short enough to fit into a wider trip around Scotland.

FIVE NIGHTS AT SEA

Not everyone has a week or ten days to spare. Our five-night voyages give you a proper taste of life under sail.

There's time to find your sea legs, take a turn at the helm, help hoist the sails and drop anchor somewhere new each evening. You'll go ashore to explore islands, beaches and villages, and come back on board to a home-cooked dinner. No sailing experience is needed.

QUESTIONS ABOUT FIVE NIGHTS

Is five nights long enough?

Yes. Five nights is enough to learn the basics of sailing Provident, visit several islands and anchor somewhere different each evening. It's also a good way to try sailing before committing to a longer voyage.

Do I need sailing experience?

No. None of our voyages need any previous experience. You can join in on deck as much or as little as you like.

What's included in the price?

Your berth and bedding, all meals, and the skipper, mate and cook. Travel to the boat and drinks from the bar are extra.

Where do the short breaks start?

Voyages 01, 08 and 20 start and finish at Craobh Haven, about twenty miles south of Oban. Voyage 13 starts and finishes at Mallaig. Voyage 15 starts at Mallaig and finishes at Craobh Haven.

What should I bring?

No specialist gear is needed, just sensible layers, waterproofs and non-slip shoes. See our kit list.

Five nights, and a different view of Scotland

Berths can be booked individually, so you can come on your own, as a couple or with friends.
